The New Play Reading Series (formerly called Fridays@3) brings playwrights, directors, and professional actors together for one week of rehearsals and an opportunity for audiences to get closer to the creative process.
This year, as part of W71, the series will include the following projects:
Audre Lorde, a book club, and five screaming white women. White Girls Gang is about a book club gone disastrously wrong.

This project performs in the Auditorium at the Clark Art Institute’s Manton Research Center. It rehearses in CTD 280.

The Clark Auditorium is located in the Manton Research Center on The Clark Art Institute campus (225 South Street). The Clark recommends patrons park in the free Main Lot and walk down the path to the Manton building. Please note: for Summer 2025, South Street will be one-way due to road construction. Check-in will take place by a list at the door inside the Manton lobby. Seating is general admission.

Aprilette and her mother Emma have spent 45 years living underground like worms, reading poetry and complaining. When a mysterious visitor shows up, Aprilette is forced to confront the world her mother has described to her, and wonder how far underground someone must dig to avoid being perceived.

This project performs in the MainStage at the ‘62 Center for Theatre & Dance. It rehearses in G10.

The MainStage is located inside the '62 Center for Theatre & Dance in the front of the building (1000 Main St, Williamstown, MA). The accessibility drop off area is located to the right of the '62 Center on Adams Memorial Dr. This is a one way road that proceeds to a free three-tiered parking garage located behind the building.
Limited additional on-street parking is available on Park St. There is also a free parking lot at the bottom of Spring St, less than a 10-minute walk to the theatre.
Seats to this project are general admission; tickets are digital and emailed to ticket holders. If patrons have trouble accessing their tickets, they can visit the Box Office also located in the front of the building.
